About

Girlsmell Particles refers to an exploitable redraw template in which a diagram illustrates a fan blowing "girlsmell particles" from a sweaty girl towards a person blissfully smelling her from downwind. The original illustration was posted to Twitter in July 2023, whereafter artists began replacing the girl with other characters.

Origin

On July 4th, 2023, Visua Busters, an art group, tweeted an illustration by one of their members, classyfren.[1] The illustrated diagram depicts a fan blowing "girlsmell particles" from a sweaty "cute girl" towards a person who is blissfully smelling her odor from downwind (shown below). The tweet received over 1,370 likes and 210 retweets in 5 days.

Spread

Following the original tweet, later that same day, Twitter[2] user @Juan_De_Lata[3] tweeted the first known edit, replacing the girl with VTuber Sakamata Chloe. The tweet received over 7,990 likes and 790 retweets in 5 days. (shown below, left) On July 7th, @Kaziedell[4] tweeted an edit with Hex Maniac (shown below, right) receiving over 20,000 likes and 2,500 retweets in 2 days.

More humorous edits include a July 7th, 2023 edit posted by @catsockjus[5] which features the fan blowing "bromine particles," gaining over 130 retweets and 1,200 likes in three days (shown below, left). On July 8th, user @DreMeMoTo[6] posted an edit that showed the fan blowing "delicious pie smell," gaining over 1,400 retweets and 12,000 likes in two days (shown below, right).
