Glasses Loopy Plushie refers to a plushie doll of the children's show character Loopy from Pororo wearing a wig and glasses. The doll inspired fan art and cosplaying, often to highlight characteristics of young Chinese women in Asia.

Origin

On December 14th, 2023, Facebook^[1] user Zoey uploaded photos of a Loopy plushie wearing a wig and glasses, with text captioned that roughly translates as "Always have a friend around me who looks like this." The post received more than 15,000 reactions and 20,000 shares in three weeks (shown below).

Spread

On December 22nd, 2023, Twitter/X^[2] user @michaelreeves uploaded a Whisper using one of Zoey's photos with the caption "girl look like this has the permission to ruin my life." The post received more than 1,800 reposts and 51,200 likes in one week (shown below).

Starting that day, the plushie grew popular with fan art and cosplays. For example, on December 27th, 2023, Facebook^[3] user MechaRiot uploaded a Somebody That I Used To Know edit referencing the Loopy plushie and the Chinese Beaver Animation. The post received more than 2,700 reactions and 5,600 shares in one week (shown below, left). On the next day, Facebook^[4] user Andrian Januar Adilia uploaded Moe Anthropomorphism fan art of Loopy. The post received more than 8,500 reactions and 2,600 shares in one week (shown below, right).
