Murdock, it's Gorr, Gorr the God butcher. You're my lawyer so I think you should know: I've killed a lot of Gods. Some guys in some pantheon in Greece uh, some Eternals maybe 5 or 10 uhmm... a skeleton Bird God I met in Cairo. I left him in a gift shop at some British Museum. I killed the Easter Bunny with a nail gun, and some old man - uh some old fat f*ck wearing red, with a sled and some reindeers, last week. I killed the Tooth Fairy with a chainsaw, I had to, she stole children's teeth while they were sleeping. And uh someone else there I can't remember maybe a Buddha, but he's dead too. And Morbius. I killed Morbius with a Necrosword in the face, his body is morbin' in a bathtub in Hell's Kitchen. I don't want to leave anything out here. I guess I've killed maybe 20 Gods, maybe 40. I have tapes of a lot of it, uh Thor and Jane have seen the tapes. I even, um... I ate some of their shwarma, and I tried to cook a little. Tonight I, uh, I just had to kill a LOT of Gods. And I'm not sure I'm gonna get away with it this time. I guess I'll uh - I mean, ah - I guess I'm a pretty uh, I mean I guess I'm a pretty sick guy. So, if you get back tomorrow, meet me in Asgard, so you know, keep your eyes open.

Gorr the God Butcher is a supervillain appearing in Marvel Comics, primarily in the Thor: God of Thunder comic book series. A deicidal alien bound on slaying every god he meets for never answering his prayers and letting his family die, Gorr wields "All-Black" the Necrosword with which he kills gods. In May 2022, after actor Christian Bale was revealed as Gorr in the trailer for Marvel's 2022 film Thor: Love and Thunder, the character became a subject of _"American Psycho":https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/american-psycho-patrick-bateman and Sigma Male memes due to their association with the actor.

On March 23rd, 2022, the first trailer for the Marvel superhero film Thor: Love and Thunder premiered.[2] In the trailer, actor Christian Bale appears as Gorr the God Butcher. The trailer garnered over 23 million views in one day (shown below).

For example, on March 23rd, 2022, Culture Crave tweeted[3] two images of Bale's Gorr, with the tweet gaining over 9,100 retweets and 94,200 likes in two months (shown below, left). On the same day, Facebook[4] page The Marvel Hub posted a collage of six shots with Gorr from the trailer, with the post gaining over 47,000 reactions and 10,000 shares in a similar timeframe (shown below, right).

Starting on the same day, images of Bale's Gorr were used as source material for various memes. For example, Twitter[5] user @WilliamsTroop posted a No Bitches? meme on March 23rd that gained over 10 retweets and 980 likes in one day (shown below, left). On the same day, Twitter[6] account @geekcultureexp posted an edit of Trying to Hold a Fart photograph that gained over 2,400 retweetrs and 24,800 likes in one day (shown below, right).

For example, on May 21st, 2022, Twitter[7] user @Stephnxtreme posted a drawing based on the Patrick Bateman With an Axe scene that gained over 50 retweets and 560 likes and was widely reposted in the following days (shown below, left). To prepare for his latest role as the villain Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love & Thunder, Christian Bale shaved his head completely, lost over 60 lbs, and was willing to be drenched in complete white paint. In addition, he volunteered to travel to different realms and committed acts of murder on numerous amounts of gods and deities to become one with the role both physically and mentally.
