Got That Shit On, often used as part of the catchphrase He Got That Shit On Though, is a phrase and slang expression used to compliment or commend someone's outfit or drip. The catchphrase was popularized online in the early 2020s, with a clip of influencer and hip-hop producer Druski saying, "He got that shit on though!" becoming a sound people often associate with the line.

Origin

The earliest known mention of the phrase "Got That Shit On" online is a tweet^[1] posted on December 27th, 2014, by X / Twitter user @DatBulRoni (seen below). The post received minimal engagement but is the oldest archived example found online.

Sporadic mentions of the phrase "Got that shit on" continued through the late 2010s, however, it wasn't until Druski mentioned the expression in a January 25th, 2021, TikTok livestream that it gained traction in the mainstream. Druski saying, "Boy! He got that shit on though," can be seen at the 32:02 timestamp below.^[2]

On December 22nd, 2021, X^[3] user @bigdaddyken___ made a post about how they think characters in Power Rangers "got that shit on," gathering over 6,000 likes in two years (seen below).

In 2022, Druski saying, "He got that shit on though!" became a meme on TikTok,^[4] as seen in a video posted by user @akaelite2.0 on September 25th, 2022, that gathered over 5 million plays and 700,000 likes in eight months (seen below, left). On November 4th, TikToker^[5] @arieswilliams0 posted a video using the sound as well, gathering over 3.4 million plays and 700,000 likes in five months (seen below, right).

A video of a chicken with feathers growing on his feet was retweeted by various internet users saying that he "got that shit on," including X user @UglyMarco^[6] on a December 21st, 2023, post that gathered over 87,000 likes in three months (seen below).
