Hariet is a boss character from Super Mario Odyssey and a member of the Broodals (the game's secondary antagonists). She resembles a short-clothed rabbit with a little hat, ponytail, purple dress, pumps, and gloves. The character has developed a following for her unique design and cartoony animations. She has been a special subject of fan art, overshadowing the other broodals.

Origin

Hariet first appeared alongside the other Broodals for a split second in the game’s announcement trailer (shown below).

Her boss fight was showcased during the marketing months before the game's release, where people quickly picked up on her unhinged personality and maniacal laughter.

Harriet has developed a following on DeviantArt with over 8.7K results for the term “Hariet” (although, not all results are related to the character herself), multiple search results on Tumblr.
Years later after the game's release, she still gets new fan art frequently.

On November, 4th, 2017, Twitter user Risenshiney^[1] posted a tweet reading, "Harriet will be your one-up girl," which earned roughly around 1,000 likes and 200 retweets (shown below, left). On January, 2nd, 2020, user BridgeOfFaust^[2] posted a tweet about Hariet drawn in a Mario Strikers style that earned roughly around 900 likes and 200 retweets.
