Hella Studious, Look At This Studious Ass Foo is a TikTok sound used by creators to label humorously studious moments exhibited by strangers or their friends. The trend started with a video posted in early 2022 when a TikToker filmed his friend studying by the water.

Origin

On February 5th, 2022, TikToker[1] bock0_0 posted a Snapchat video he took of his friend sitting on a rock on the shore of a scenic lake, studying by reading a textbook. The video (shown below) received roughly 10.1 million plays and 2.1 million likes over the course of a month and a half.

On February 8th, 2022, TikToker[2] dddiieegooo posted a video that used the sound, showing his friend studying in a strange way, using his friend's hands as his desk. The TikTok (shown below, left) earned roughly 1 million plays and 264,900 likes in six weeks. On February 9th, TikToker[3] el_eethrty posted a video with the sound that showed their dog next to their car being fixed up. Within six weeks, the TikTok received roughly 2.1 million plays and 487,800 likes (shown below, right).

TikTokers using the sound became increasingly absurd in their examples of "being studious" going into March 2022. For instance, TikToker[4] ntrusivethots used the sound on March 1st, showing one of their classmates writing with an oversized pencil. The video (shown below, left) earned roughly 9.4 million plays and 2.4 million likes over the course of three weeks. On March 6th, TikToker[5] caydachristianson posted a video that showed their friend studying underwater in a pool, earning roughly 8.4 million plays and 2 million likes over the course of two weeks (shown below, right).
