"Hey, Can I Come In," known officially as Breaking & Entering, refers to a trauma dump blobslop comic in which a story of breaking and entering serves as a metaphor for rape. Posted on X in mid-May 2025, the webcomic was widely mocked online, similarly to other works and comics about traumatic situations, such as The Morning Visitor and Your Favorite Student.

Origin

On May 15th, 2025, artist Halo (@halosonhorns) posted a metaphorical comic about rape in which a character broke into another character's house and robbed them (opening panel shown below).

The comic starts with the dialogue between the two characters, with one asking to come into the other's house and the other protesting. The other character then produces a key and makes it fit into the lock, opening the door and coming inside. The next panel shows the owner of the house lying in the middle of their ransacked room, bleeding, as the invader slips away through the front door. The comic ends with an image of the patched-up house, now surrounded by two fences and a moat.

The first post in the thread garnered over 12.2 million views, 17,000 reposts and 164,000 likes on X^[1] in one day.

Spread

On May 15th, 2025, X^[2] user @TummyacheCauser quoted the first post in the thread, commenting, "There’s a genre of media that I can honestly only refer to as traumaslop" (notably using the slang term "slop" as a suffix). The post received over 610 reposts and 16,000 likes.

In the following hours, multiple users ridiculed the comic in a similar way to earlier trauma dump comics and works that went viral in 2024, such as Your Favorite Student.

For example, X^[3] user @BiterCrazdLoner posted an I'm Putting Together a Team meme, posting images of the invader and The Morning Visitor side-by-side. The post received over 570 reposts and 12,000 likes in one day (shown below).

On May 16th, X^[4] user @netzachdrnk posted an edit that replaced the invader with Tsukiyuki Miyako from Blue Archive. The post (shown below) received over 140 reposts and 2,400 likes in one day.

On May 15th, 2025, X^[5] user @Royalsnis accused the author of the comic of sexual harassment and predatory behavior towards several women, linking an accusatory thread.^[6]
