Hi Smile Tiny Teeth Advertisement refers to a photoshopped image of a person with many small white teeth smiling posted by the teeth whitening company Hi Smile to their Instagram in August 2019. The advertisement was reposted to Twitter by users who thought the ad disturbing due to the size and amount of teeth in the persons mouth.

Origin

On August 5th, 2019, Hi Smile's posted the original image with the caption, "We’ll whiten ALL your teeth 🦷 Tag a friend to trigger them" to their Instagram^[1] account hismileteeth (shown below). The post received over 10,000 likes in four days.

Spread

On August 5th, 2019, Instagram users were quick to comment on the size and amount of teeth in the photo (shown below, left). That same day, Twitter user @ziggychlo^[2] posted a screenshot of the Instagram post saying, "is HiSmile ok? im terrified but i am enjoy" (shown below, center). The tweet garnered over 2,100 likes and 100 retweets in four days. Hi Smile^[3] responded by tweeting, "We're ok, thanks for asking" (shown below, right).
