Holy Fucking Bingle or Holy Fucking Bingle. What?! :3 is a catchphrase first written in a blog post alongside an image of a Sprigatito plushie Pokemon doll by Maia Arson Crimew explaining how she obtained and leaked the TSA's no-fly list. The phrase and a screenshot from the blog showing it went viral in January 2023 after the leak, inspiring memes and fan art referencing it and popularizing the phrase.

Origin

On January 19th, 2023, Swiss hacker Maia Arson Crimew published a piece to her blog maia.crimew.gay^[1] titled, "how to completely own an airline in 3 easy steps." In the article, she explains how she managed to obtain the Terrorist Screening Database no-fly list and leak it online. After confirming that she got hold of the 2019 no-fly list, she writes, "holy shit, we actually have the nofly list. holy fucking bingle. what?! :3" above a photograph of a plush Sprigatito toy and her laptop (shown below).

Crimew elaborated on the "lore" of the Bingle Sprigatito plush three days later in a Twitter^[6] thread, explaining how the name "Bingle" is an inside joke from a Discord group. She also writes, "i got bingle for free after finding a massive vulnerability in a japanese merch resellers website and they sent me bingle +bother sprigatito merchandise as a thank you," garnering over 3,500 likes in a day.

Spread

The use of the catchphrase "holy fucking Bingle" spread on social media over the following days as the story went viral, with many finding uses of the phrase funny. For example, on January 21st, 2023, Twitter^[2] user @E3kHatena wrote, "'holy fucking bingle. what?! :3' might be the funniest string of obviously transfem text this year and it’s on a blog leaking the fucking no fly list," garnering over 12,000 likes in two days (shown below). Later that day, Twitter^[3] user @aimpony10k posted a screenshot from the blog, writing, "imagine committing a federal cybercrime and your first reaction is 'holy fucking bingle what :3,'" garnering over 27,800 likes in two days.

On January 22nd, Twitter^[4] user and artist @popstarpatch posted a video featuring an original hip-hop song titled "HOLY FUCKING BINGLE" using the phrase "bingle" repeatedly, garnering over 1,000 likes in a day (shown below). They also released the song on SoundCloud.^[7]

On January 23rd, 2023, Twitter^[5] user @slimgiltsoul posted a piece of fan art depicting the Sprigatito plush next to a cat meant to represent Crimew, garnering over 4,300 likes in under a day (shown below).
