I Cannot Comprehend Your E-Girl Problems refers to a series of snowclone memes in which Doge and various other characters, often transformed into an inanimate object, state that they cannot comprehend "your problems" for the reason of being that object. The format became viral in /r/dogelore subreddit in November 2019 and maintained moderate popularity online in 2020.

Origin

On May 23rd, 2019, Facebook^[1] user Ian Pookie Campbell posted an image of Doge transformed into a cement mixer, with one of the images being captioned "I'm a fuckin cement mixer vro, I literally cannot comprehend your "e-girl" "problems," with the post gaining 14 reactions and 6 shares (shown below).

Spread

Within several days, Campbell posted the image to now-deleted Doge-themed Facebook^[2] group Doge Retardposting where it went viral (post no longer available). On June 12th, 2019, Redditor^[3] Bootyratchik reposted the image to /r/dogelore where it received over 930 upvotes in six months. On September 30th, iFunny^[4] user Selectro reposted the image, with the post gaining over 15,500 smiles in one year. On October 28th, 2019, Redditor^[5] the_dyl_pickle reposted the image to /r/okbuddyretard, where it gained over 440 upvotes in six months.

The snowclone did not see viral spread until mid-November 2019, when it gained signicant popularity in /r/dogelore. For example, on November 19th, 2019, Redditor^[6] carathebunnyhost posted a meme that received over 470 upvotes in six months (shown below, left). On November 23rd, Redditor^[7] Shadown_TNF posted a Boar Vessel meme that gained over 8,500 upvotes in the same period (shown below, right).

In the following months, the format maintained moderate popularity on Reddit, Twitter and Facebook, with many variations featuring characters other than Doge.

On May 24th, 2020, the poster of the original meme made a post in /r/dogelore about the story behind the meme (shown below).^[2][8]
