IdkSterling Viggle AI Edits refers to a low-effort brainrot TikTok trend where people use Viggle AI to insert reaction TikToker IdkSterling into cartoons, video games or other viral videos. The trend began in 2024, but began gaining traction outside TikTok in January 2025.
Origin
TikToker[1] @idksterling is a creator on TikTok with over 6.6 million followers as of January 23rd, 2025. His videos roughly follow the same format, starting with a creepy or disturbing viral video that he greenscreens himself into to explain its contents. His videos predominantly use the same TikTok sounds[2][3] which are called "バラック集落 – ききやま" and "Nothing Can Be Explained – Anime de Japan" on the app.
After the release of ViggleAI in April 2024, TikTokers began editing IdkSterling into random videos. An early example of this trend is a video[4] posted by @colethehammer_ on June 14th, 2024, gathering over 2 million plays and 198,000 likes in seven months.

TikToker @colethehammer_ was a major early proponent of the trend, receiving recognition from @IdkSterling and other creators like Joe Bartolozzi and Ray William Johnson for his brainrot videos. The TikToker posted a compilation of his videos as well as various TikTokers' reactions to them on January 19th,[5] before the proposed "United States TikTok Ban.":

TikTokers[6] @razormanv1 posted an AI-edited video of @IdkSterling in the Herobrine scene from the Minecraft movie on September 6th, 2024, gathering over 1.2 million plays and 100,000 likes on a video editing five months.

On January 15th, 2025, TikToker[7] @mrwaffle_4 posted a video inserting IdkSterling into a scene from the 2015 Dreamworks movie, Home. The post gathered over 900,000 plays and 130,000 likes in a week.

The trend began to spread outside of TikTok in January 2025, as seen in a video posted by X[8] user @funnyhoodvidss on January 16th, 2025.
