Tarian Penghambat Rezeki refers to a video of a boy named Alul wearing a red shirt and dancing to the remix song "DJ DINDA DI CARIIN ZERZSOFTBOY" by Zio DJ. The dance gained popularity in 2021, and has been used as an exploitable with Alul dancing in various edits. The meme was revived in 2024 alongside the increasing popularity of ViggleAI usage.

Origin

On October 27th, 2021, TikTok[1] user @alulpembalapkampung uploaded a video of himself dancing to the song "DJ DINDA DI CARIIN ZERZSOFTBOY" by Zio DJ in the background. The video received more than 410,000 views in three years (shown below).

Spread

Starting November 2021, the video gained popularity as an exploitable format in various edits. For example, on November 27th, 2021, YouTube[2] user Dibikin Ngakak Aja uploaded an edit using a scene from the Wataten! manga and anime series. The video received more than 263,000 views in three years (shown below, left). On November 23rd, 2021, YouTube[3] user Ya Begitulah uploaded an edit using a scene from Attack on Titan. That video received more than 712,000 views in three years (shown below, right).



2024 Revival

In 2024, following the emergence of ViggleAI which allowed people to edit videos by using AI to splice other figures or characters over original footage of dancers. Posters began using ViggleAI to rotoscope other characters onto Alul's body. For example on April 18th, 2024, Facebook[4] user Achmad Mulyana uploaded an edit of people doing Alul's dance with a caption claimed to be said by Elon Musk that read "AI is dangerous for humans, even more than nuclear weapons" to the "Twicenese" group. The video received more than 6,300 reactions and 5,200 shares in one week (shown below, left). On April 22nd, 2024, Facebook[5] page Samudera Cinta uploaded an edit of President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, Minister of Sports and Youth, Erick Thohir, and the coach of Indonesia football team, Shin Tae-yong doing the Alul's dance after Indonesia's win against Jordan in the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup in Qatar. The video received more than 5,300 reactions and 750 shares in three days (shown below, right).
