On April 2nd, 2020, Twitter[1] user @TheJeremyHaynes tweeted, "If you don’t come out of this quarantine with either: 1.) a new skill 2.) starting what you’ve been putting off like a new business 3.) more knowledge You didn’t ever lack the time, you lacked the discipline." The tweet received more than 15,000 likes and 3,600 retweets in less than one week.

Following the post, people began parodying and criticizing the tweet. For example, on April 3rd, Twitter[2] user @TechnicallyRon tweeted, "If you don’t come out of this quarantine with either: 1.) a new skill 2.) starting what you’ve been putting off like a new business 3.) more knowledge That's perfectly fucking fine you're currently going through a historical event out of your control it's not a bank holiday." The tweet received more than 29,000 likes and 7,200 retweets in less than four days (shown below, left).
Throughout the week, the trend continued. Twitter[3] user @Jamberee13 tweeted, "f you don’t come out of this quarantine with either: 1) a piece of your soul trapped in antique jewelry
2) the ability to encase a traveler in thorned vines 3) A crow familiar to commune with the old gods You didn’t ever lack the time, you lacked the discipline." The tweet received more than 10,000 likes and 3,000 retweets in less than one week (shown below, center). Twitter[4] user @alinabanana tweeted, "If you don’t come out of this quarantine with either: 1.) a new skill 2.) side hustle 3.) more knowledge Just chill, it's not a competition. This is a global pandemic for god's sake." The tweet received more than 2,000 likes and 1,600 retweets in less than one week (shown below, right).
