On April 1st, 2017, Instagram user @drgrayfang[1] posted a photograph of a group of cyclists along with the caption "Imagine finding your soulmate and then finding out they do shit like this on the weekend?" (shown below). Over the next seven months, the post gained over 17,500 likes.

On June 22nd, 2017, @drgrayfang[3] posted a stock photograph of a man wearing a man bun hairstyle talking into a cell phone with the caption "Imagine meeting your soulmate and then finding out they talk on the phone like this" (shown below). Within five months, the post gathered upwards of 32,500 likes.

On July 29th, Instagram user @the.couch.whisperer[2] posted a screen capture from the 2004 music video "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" by Green Day with a joke about a soulmate who doesn't "like memes" (shown below, left).
