Jack Doherty is an American Kick streamer, YouTuber and social media influencer primarily known for his pranks in public places like supermarkets, malls and amusement parks. He started posting prank-related content on YouTube in 2016 but grew more prominent in December 2020 after infamously arguing with Dr. Phil while he was a guest on the talk show. During the 2020s as he became more well-known online, numerous videos, memes and discourse about his controversial content gained attention, often criticizing him. In early 2024, Doherty also became a viral topic on Twitter / X after a video was leaked purportedly depicting him engaging in intercourse with model and influencer McKinley Richardson.

On July 14th, 2016, American Jack Doherty created his YouTube[1] channel, posting his first video[2] on September 29th, 2016, which features him doing the "marker flip" challenge (shown below, left). The post amassed more than 600,000 views and 18,000 likes in eight years. His earliest prank video[3] was uploaded a month later, on October 20th, 2016, titled "Prank calling Jacob Sartorius," which garnered roughly 315,000 views and 7,800 likes in eight years.


Doherty started to gain online notoriety after appearing in Logan Paul's Impaulsive[9] podcast and alleging he bought a house while he was 15 years old using the income earned from his YouTube videos. The clip (shown below) was uploaded on October 23rd, 2019, amassing more than 1.8 million views and 37,000 likes in five years.

Jack Doherty Argues With Dr. Phil

On December 18th, 2020, the Dr. Phil talk show aired episode 69 of the 19th season, titled Neighborhood Prankster or Menace to Society? The episode focused on Jack Doherty's family asking for Dr. Phil's help to weigh in on the 17-year-old's anything for β€œlikes” content. At a particular moment in the show, Doherty started to argue with Dr. Phil, which went viral on the internet, as the talk show YouTube[4] video of the incident amassed over 2.3 million views and 42,000 likes in four years (seen below).

Jack Doherty Getting Slapped During Livestream

On September 28th, 2023, The Island Boys slapped Jack Doherty during one of his livestreams. The moment went viral on X, as accounts such as @DramaAlert[10] uploaded the moment (shown below), which garnered over 420,000 views and 2,000 likes in almost a year.

Jack Doherty and McKinley Richardson Sex Tape Leak

In mid-February 2024, a rumored sex tape of Jack Doherty and McKinley Richardson purportedly leaked depicting content creator Doherty engaging in intercourse with Richardson. The video went viral on X, as fans of both participants reacted to it (example post seen below).

By April 8th, 2024, Jack Doherty had amassed over 14 million subscribers on YouTube, more than 900,000 followers on Instagram[5] and roughly 140,000 subscribers on Kick.[6]

Online Presence

Jack Doherty has been a notable presence online since the early 2020s, with several creators and social media users calling him the "worst type of influencer" while criticizing his prank content. For example, on October 22nd, 2022, YouTuber[7] @BillsYT uploaded a video essay about Doherty's pranks on people (shown below, left), which amassed over 546,000 views and 13,000 likes in a year and a half.

On December 21st, 2023, YouTuber[8] Cr1TiKaL posted a video titled "Jack Doherty is Horrible" in which he explained some of the controversies surrounding Doherty's online behavior and pranks. The post (shown below, right) garnered over 5.6 million views and 229,000 likes in five months.
