Jerma Teacher Noise is an exploitable clip taken from a stream of Jerma985 playing L.A. Noire. The clip has been remade by fans, as well as redubbed with different characters and languages.
Origin
The stream clip comes from Jerma985 playing L.A. Noire on September 25th, 2018.[1] During the stream (shown below), Jerma talks about when he was a substitute teacher, and how he would quickly quiet a group of rowdy kids in class by being rowdier than the kids. He does this by making a lot of beeping noises similar to Morse code.
A clip (shown below) was made of the substitute teacher talk and was posted to YouTube by nicky p on August 10th, 2019, where it received over 2.7 million views in over five years.
Spread
The scene was reanimated several times throughout the early 2020's. On September 5th, 2021, YouTube animator Reindrew[3] posted an animation of the scene (shown below, left) that received over 75,000 views in three years. On February 2nd, 2022, YouTube animator Kobee :)[4] posted an animation of the scene (shown below, right) that received over 47,000 views in over two years.
On April 13th, 2022, YouTube animator GoogleyGareth[5] posted the scene recreated in Source Filmmaker using Scout from Team Fortress 2. The video (shown below, left) received over 232,000 views in over two years. On June 14th, 2022, YouTube animator Mikopath[6] posted the scene recreated using stop-motion animation and LEGO parts. The video (shown below, right) received over 405,000 views in over two years.
Redubs of the scene in different languages started to appear on YouTube in 2023 and 2024. On July 23, 2023, YouTube user MrpoopJPG[7] posted a redub of the scene in Latin Spanish (shown below, left) which received over 34,000 views in over one year. On August 3rd, 2023, YouTube user DippyTheDM[8] posted the scene redubbed in German (shown below, right) which received over 167,000 views in over one year.
On October 13th, 2024, YouTube user Edgy Trash[9] posted a redub of the scene in Norwegian (shown below, left) which received over 81,000 views in over one month. On November 8th, 2024, YouTube user tebby24 中文[10] posted a redub of the scene in Chinese (shown below, right) which received over 106,000 views in over two weeks.
