Jimmy From LinkedIn is a viral video of a voice message made to a LinkedIn user by Jimmy Diggs introducing himself in July 2020. The message was posted to Twitter and caused Twitter users to mock Jimmy for using the career-oriented social media site in an unconventional way and create parodies of the message.
Origin
On July 22nd, 2020, Twitter user @okcandice_ posted a voice message she received from a stranger on LinkedIn named Jimmy Diggs captioned, "Was this really necessary Jimmy from LinkedIn?" (shown below). The tweet garnered over 197,100 likes and 44,000 retweets in a day.

Spread
On July 22nd, 2020, Twitter user @HTFIII[2] posted a screenshot of Jimmy Diggs' Twitter account saying, "Hey Candice, Jimmy can help you 'unsing' the Internet. Although he’s not much of a speller, or a tweeter. But he’s big dog" (shown below, left). The tweet gained over 540 likes in a day. That day, Twitter user @okcandice_[3] replied to all the responses to her video saying, "Y’all please don’t go harassing Jimmy. I’m sure he meant no harm and it was honestly funny to me. A little weird but funny" which received over 3,900 likes in a day.
That same day, many Twitter users responded to the video with reaction images depicting Jimmy. Twitter user @GTGoldenGoose[5] posted an image of a man with his mouth close to his phone saying, "Hello Candice, aha ha” (shown below, left). The tweet acquired over 32,100 likes and 2,300 retweets in a day. Twitter user @OmarDeanII[4] posted the image of Anthony Adams Rubbing Hands captioned, "Hey Candace, this is me. Jimmy, from LinkedIn..” (shown below). The tweet gained over 1,500 likes in a day.
Twitter user @Paynen_Sahrow added smooth music to the voice message saying, "I'm sorry in advance no I'm not… " (shown below). The video accumulated over 9,400 likes and 1,400 retweets in a day. eBaum's World[6] and The Daily Dot[1] published articles on the viral video.
