About

Just A Normal Single Guy Scrolling and DC4L is a copypasta and catchphrase said online in various sports-related Reddit communities. The acronym "DC4L," which means "Dallas Cowboys For Life," also has different variations made for other sports teams to make the overall phrase more versatile depending on which sports team the poster is claiming to be a part of the fandom for.

Origin

A part of Dallas Cowboys online culture for years, the phrase "DC4L" can be traced back to other similar Cowboys memes, such as We Dem Boyz and The Dallas Cowboys Cycle, with it being said at the tail end of social media posts relating to the NFL team.

On January 14th, 2024, Redditor u/SoftSession7297[1] commented on a post in the /r/cowboys subreddit in which he was Horny On Main. After being called out for being in the wrong subreddit, because he had no prior postings there, he responded by saying he's "just a normal single guy scrolling and DC4L" as his attempt to blend in (shown below).

Other sports communities, quick to capitalize on the meme fame of the catchphrase "just a normal single guy scrolling and DC4L," began to post their own variations of the phrase and mock the Redditor for his selfie posted with it. On February 26th, 2024, Redditor u/DireWolfGang[2] uploaded an image of the Cleveland Browns mascot, called Brownie the Elf, and changed the phrase to "DP4L," meaning "DawgPound4Life," a play on their other mascot Chomps and a section of their stadium affectionately called that (shown below).

After his initial post went viral, other Redditors began to create memes about u/SoftSession, primarily by recreating the selfie posted by him or photoshopping it into other images. On March 22nd, 2024, Redditor u/sarcastiballll[3] uploaded an image posted by Rosco's Burger Inn in which u/SoftSessions is photoshopped into the background (shown below).
