Kanna is the name of a character from the 2019 video game Blaster Master Zero II, developed and published by Sunsoft for the Nintendo Switch.

History

On March 20th, 2019, Nintendo held a "Nindies" Nintendo Direct wherein they showcased upcoming indie games coming to the Nintendo Switch. During the Direct, Sunsoft revealed the trailer for Blast Master Zero II, a 2D platformer and bullet-hell style game (shown below). In the trailer, a character named Kanna makes a brief appearance, saying "One more time, here we go! Nice'n'loud. Reeeeeady?"

Online Presence

Following the debut trailer of Blaster Master Zero II Kanna's brief appearance in said trailer gained many positive reactions from viewers who noted her design looked "cute" and "sexy." On the day the trailer was released, artwork began appearing on on websites like Newgrounds, Deviantart, FurAffinity, Twitter Tumblr, and 4chan's /v/ board.^[2] Much of this art is NSFW, emphasizing the character's breasts. For example, artist Viejillox posted artwork of her to Newgrounds that day (shown below, left), as did user King-Kirby^[1] the following day (shown below, right).
