Kazuya Guy is a nickname given to TikToker @emilseljeseth whose facial expression related to the Chad Face gained virality in September and October 2022 as a reference for redraws. The exploitable meme's name was spawned by a viral tweet referencing the fighting video game Tekken 8.

Origin

On September 7th, 2022, TikToker^[1] @emilsejeseth posted a My Name Is Skyler White, Yo TikTok in which he repeatedly emphasized his lines by making a "chad" face, puckering his lips outward and staring into the camera. The TikTok (shown below, left) gained over 19.8 million views and 3.3 million likes in one month. Then on September 10th, TikToker^[2] @spoogerman_official posted a Duet with the clip that received over 11.7 million views and 2.1 million likes in one month (shown below, right).

On September 11th, 2022, Twitter^[3] gimmick account @hi1ar10us posted the video, with the clip gaining over 1.4 million views, 12,200 retweets and 88,200 likes in roughly three weeks.

On September 13th, 2022, Twitter^[4] user @KevChelios posted two of @emilsejeseth's expressions from the video in a tweet referencing Tekken 8. The tweet gained over 7,600 retweets and 54,000 likes in three weeks (shown below).

Starting in late September 2022, the image gained popularity as the source material for redraws. For example, on September 19th, Redditor^[5] Aeroxftw69 redrew @emilsejeseth as Kazuya from Tekken, with the post gaining over 630 upvotes in /r/Tekken in three weeks (shown below, left). On September 28th, content maker @KinoFabino reimagined @emilsejeseth as Gordon Freeman from Half-Life (shown below, right). The tweet^[6] gained over 920 retweets and 8,000 likes in one week.

More viral redraws based on the image were posted in October 2022. For example, on October 6th, 2022, Twitter^[7] account for FACEIT Team Fortress 2 posted a Team Fortress 2 version that gained over 2,400 retweets and 22,500 likes in less than 24 hours.
