On October 8th, 2020, the E! television network aired the Keeping Up with the Kardashians episode "Trouble in Palm Springs."[1] During the episode, the family is out to dinner and Kylie sings "I'm gonna get wasted." Her sister Kourtney responds, "I don't know what's going on. I'm just appreciating my bread."

That day, Instagram user @kyliesnapchat shared the clip of Kardashian singing "I'm gonna get wasted" from the episode. The post received more than 519,000 views and 33,000 likes in less than one week (shown below).

On October 9th, E published the clip on TikTok. The post received more than 1.6 million reactions and 5,600 comments in less than one week (shown below, left). That day, Joe Jonas posted a variation of the meme. The post received more than 1.4 million reactions and 2,900 comments in less than one week (shown below, right).
