About

What Would Happen If You Just Called Taylor Up is a catchphrase from a TikTok trend where people parody how they think their parents sound when they speak about talking to famous or important people in a casual manner. The line was originally delivered by Kris Jenner to Kim Kardashian in the 12th season of the reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians in reference to the controversies surrounding Taylor Swift and Kanye West's 2016 track "Famous."

Origin

On July 17th, 2016, episode 11 of season 12 of the reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians aired on E!, and featured a conversation between Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian where they discussed the ongoing conflict between Kanye West and Taylor Swift. In the episode, Kris Jenner is seen urging Kim to call Taylor and mediate the conflict between Ye and Swift. "What would happen if you just called Taylor up and ask what happened, how did this go so South?" Kris said. “This is what I don’t understand. Because I really do like her and I like her team, and I like her mom. I don’t understand what made her flip so quickly.”
