LAB=01 is a 1992 song by the Japanese electric rock band P-Model. The song has been used as a source for several OtoMADs and YTPMVs since December 1st, 2017.

Origin

The song LAB=01 was first released on February 26th, 1992, by P-Model, in the album also titled P-Model, after a four-year hiatus.[1] The original song was sung by Susumu Hirasawa and Hikaru Kotobuki.[2] The song (shown below) was posted to YouTube[3] on September 12th, 2008, where it's received over 1.6 million views in over fourteen years. It was also posted to Niconico[4] on June 16th, 2007, where it received over 500,000 views in over fifteen years.

The first OtoMAD of the song was posted to both YouTube[5] and Niconico[6] on December 1st, 2017 by Nisu Aniki (にす兄貴)[7] featuring several characters from the Touhou series. The YouTube video (shown below) received over 887,000 views in nearly fourteen years, while the Niconico upload received over 1.3 million views in nearly fourteen years.

On April 21st, 2020, YouTube user Kixi posted an OtoMAD of the song using clips from Japanese Ronald McDonald commercials. The OtoMAD (shown below) received over 141,000 views in over two years.

On August 15th, 2020, YouTube user Garech posted an OtoMAD of the song using characters and materials from various Nintendo games. The OtoMAD (shown below) received over 213,000 views in over two years.

On February 17th, 2021, YouTube user Geolyte Meteos posted an OtoMAD of the song using characters from Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The OtoMAD (shown below) received over 240,000 views in over one and a half years.

On May 20th, 2021, YouTube musician Chogakusei posted a cover of the song, which received over 1.7 million views in over one year.
