Part of a series on Susumu Hirasawa. [View Related Entries]

About

Logic Airforce (Japanese: 論理空軍, Ronri Kūgun) is a 1999 song by P-Model, a Japanese musical band headed by Susumu Hirasawa. This song had been a popular musical resource for MAD videos and YouTube Poop Music Videos (YTPMVs) between late 2017 and September 2021, when the creator declared the refusal to use his works in this kind of video.

Origin

On the Japanese internet, Niconico users have occasionally utilized Logic Airforce (shown below, left) in their videos since the service launched in 2007. Also, this song and other P-Model songs get featured in fan creations for K-On! because its main characters' names are an homage to the band's members. Meanwhile, MAD/YTPMV creator Stein[1], also known by his previous names Yamas[2] and current Coron, defined the format of parody videos utilizing this song in his 2012 Utau[3] cover (shown below, right).[4]

Spread

Niconico's search results indicate that Niconico users started following Stein's that style featuring this song around 2016.[5] Among them, another MAD video creator Nisu (にす)[6] succeeded in increasing this song's popularity in online parodies with his video "Ronri Kūgun☆" (論理空軍☆) posted to Niconico[7] and YouTube on October 22nd and 24th, 2017 (shown below). He replicated the whole of the music with the voices of MGR (めぐる, Meguru)[8] and other Cookie☆ voice actors starring in fan-made audio dramas for Touhou Project. Thanks to the notorious online community, this video gained over 1.7 million views in total over 5 years.

However, internet users have quit using this song in their videos since Mr. Hirasawa declared his anger against these online parodies in September 2021.
