Leedle Leedle, sometimes written as "Leedle Leedle Lee" or "Leedle Leedle Leedle Lee", is a quote from the Spongebob Squarepants episode "Shanghaied". In 2010, the quote began to gain attention online. It is used humorously in a variety of ways.

Origin

In 2001, the Spongebob Squarepants episode "Shanghaied" aired. In it, the line was first used.

While the exact point when it became a meme is uncertain, one of the earliest mentions around the time it became a meme was a YouTube video (shown below) uploaded by user Alex K on October 19th, 2010.[1] It gained nearly 1.5 million views in 5 and a half years.

A definition for "leedle leedle leedle lee" was submitted to Urban Dictionary[2] by user Jag McSwag on October 17th, 2011, describing it as

A phrase meant to be yelled in a dramatically deep voice. Used as a follow-up to random noises in public.

A 10 hour version of the part of the show where the phrase (shown below) is said was uploaded on YouTube[3] on August 2, 2012, by user MyAbridged. In about 3 and a half years, it obtained over 2 million views.
