Legalize Anabolic Steroids refers to a viral sound effect that mimics a hip-hop producer tag. The audio is a spoof of the "legalize nuclear bombs" meme, and it grew popular on TikTok after October 2022. The sound is popular in fitness and weightlifting communities on TikTok.
Origin
On February 12th, 2022, producer @Actavis7_ uploaded a track named "yeat x actavis type beat luh geek" on YouTube, gathering over 16,000 views in ten months (seen below).[1]
On August 16th, 2022, TikToker[2] @bouchermma posted the earliest known video to overlay the phrase "legalize anabolic steroids" onto the aforementioned track, gathering over 1.3 million plays and 230,000 likes in over four months (seen below).
