On July 29th, 2016, The Eric Andre Show special, "Near the DNC," aired on Adult Swim. The video was uploaded to YouTube that day and received 2.9 million views and 55,000 likes in three years (shown below).
On October 28th, 2018, Twitter user @thotcelot[4] posted the earliest use of the GIF with the caption, "me trying to get into dracula's castle so i can finally suck his c-k" (shown below).

Spread
On November 3rd, 2018, Stevie A posted the shortened clip to YouTube which gained over 366,000 views and 9,600 likes in three months (shown below). The comment section was flooded with reaction captions like "Me when a I push a pull door" written by A Killer Pacman and "when the demon in your room at night tries to eat you but you're under the covers" by J-productions.
Twitter users continued to share the reaction GIF over the coming months on Twitter. For example, on February 6th, 2019, Twitter user @aksually[3] posted the gif with the caption "my cat 5 seconds after i let her out of my room" (shown below).

On February, 9th, 2019, Redditor Phasyo posted a "let me in" image to /r/dankmemes[1] labeling Eric Andre as "21 Savage" and behind the fence as "America." The post received 13,000 points (97% upvoted) in two days (shown below, left). That same day, Redditor GeneralBh posted another "let me in image" to /r/Me_IRL[2] labeling Eric Andre as "my sister" and "my tree house (no girls allowed)" as behind the fence. The post garnered 6,800 points (99% upvoted) in two days (shown below, right).
