Let's Be Clear I Trust No One is a lyric said in the song Elastic Heart by Sia that has been used as an audio sample on Tiktok. Though originally started as a serious audio sample for dealing with heavy topics, the meaning started to spiral into being a meme.

Origin

Though the original Tiktok using the audio sample has been deleted, the earliest example of it's use was on May 20th, 2022, by the Tiktoker[1] ykyk__codystrait2, in which he uploaded a Tiktok of his personal growth and journey against self-harming, gaining over 31,000 likes in four months and inspiring others to use the audio sample to detail their own struggles (shown below).

Spread

The biggest spike in the trend happened on May 25th when verified 56 million followed super content creator Lorengray[2] uploaded her own version of the audio sample, in which she opened up and shared headlines of her sexual assault, encouraging others to stay strong in the face of their own adversities and to shout out mental health awareness, gaining over 3.3 million views in four months (shown below).

On May 28th, 2022, the Tiktok account Kardelen268[3] uploaded a Tiktok in which they start off with the same set up that everyone else does relating to not trusting people, before pulling a bait-and-switch contrast and having them be out at a public place loudly discussing their trauma, earning over 860,000 likes in four months (shown below).
