On June 27th, 2021, YouTuber^[1] benjamin darden uploaded a video where he shows both scenes of Maddy McGear, Lightning McQueen's biggest fan, cheering him on from the crowd during a race from Cars 3. On January 23rd, 2023, TikToker^[2] @elyssapulizzi18 posted a video using both clips of the fan yelling McQueen's name, captioned, "POV: me watching him achieve his goals," garnering over 6.4 million views in two months (shown below).

The meme spread over the following weeks as TikTokers attached new, wholesome captions to the clip. On January 30th, 2023, TikToker^[3] @schandona.redman posted a version of the meme, garnering over 4.4 million views in just over a month (shown below, left). On February 28th, TikToker^[4] @alixcassity posted a version of the meme that garnered over 338,000 views in a week (shown below, right).
