Long Furby Wife Guy is a nickname given to a Twitter user who admitted to loving his wife despite her crafting up a long Furby over several weeks in August 2020. The person was described as a Wife Guy in many joke tweets submitted to the platform.

Origin

On August 9th, 2020, Twitter user @johnneh^[1] tweeted an image of a colorful long Furby seated next to a cat with the caption, "I love my wife very much, but over the past few weeks she has been making a long furby for a friend's birthday and it has made living here very uncomfortable" (shown below, left). The tweet garnered over 112,200 likes and 16,800 retweets in two days. Twitter user @johnneh^[2] posted another image in the thread of the Furby before it's completion that received over 9,000 likes in two days (shown below, right).

On August 9th, 2020, Twitter user @muddaub^[3] shared @johnneh's original tweet and captioned it, "long furby wife guy" (shown below, left). The tweet accumulated over 180 likes in two days. That same day, Twitter user @Gunpowder_Tim^[4] shared one of @johnneh's images and added the text, "from the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh it disgusted me" (shown below, right). The Daily Dot^[5] published an article on Long Furby Wife Guy.
