About

Look What They Need to Mimic a Fraction of Our Power is a line of dialogue spoken by Omni-Man to Invincible in the animated TV series Invincible during a fight between the two. The line is in reference to a pair of fighter jets, used to illustrate how weak humans are in comparison to superhumans. The scene was first used as an image macro in early May 2021, becoming popularized over the course of the month. Notably, the same episode also inspired the Think, Mark meme.

Origin

On April 29th, 2021, season 1 episode 8 of the Amazon Prime Original animated series Invincible premiered on the service. Throughout the beginning of the episode, Omni-Man and Invincible, father and son, fight as Omni-Man tries to convince Invincible to help him conquer Earth. To illustrate how powerful they are in comparison to humans, Omni-Man points out a pair of fighter jets and says, "Look what they need to mimic a fraction of our power," (shown below).[1]

On May 1st, Redditor u/Merlo_24 posted an image macro to /r/BokuNoMetaAcademia[2] referencing the anime series My Hero Academia using a screenshot of Omni-Man from the scene saying the line, garnering over 1,000 upvotes in a month (shown below). This is the earliest known use of the scene in a meme.

It's another object labeling meme, but at least this one is not obviously a "things I don't like" variant, and it may lead to some interesting results if people make interesting comparisons.
