Got Any Decent Fatherly Advice For Me? or Omni-Man Fatherly Advice refers to a series of Invincible image macros in which a young Mark Grayson (Invincible) asks Omni-Man for fatherly advice, which he subsequently gives him. The meme became popularized on Facebook in September 2021 and spread to sites including Reddit and Instagram over the following years as an exploitable format.

Origin

On September 7th, 2021, the Facebook[1] page Julius "Banoobs" Mariano posted a meme using scenes from Invincible in which Mark Grayson asks his father Omni-Man, "Got any decent fatherly advice for me?" and Omni-Man tells him that nobody should ever think they're better off dead, garnering roughly 170 reactions and 20 shares in two years (shown below). This is the earliest known version of the meme. The meme received viral spread, including a repost by Instagram[2] page bodybuilding_humour on September 23rd, garnering over 3,200 likes in a similar span of time.

On October 21st, Facebook[4] page Wraith Defense posted a version about the right to defend yourself, garnering over 1,100 shares and 1,200 reactions in just over a year (shown below, left). On November 21st, Redditor joshamiltonn posted a version of the meme about the media portraying humans as more divided than they are to /r/memes,[5] garnering over 9,800 upvotes in just over a year (shown below, right).

This became one of the most popular and reposted versions of the meme in the following months.[7] On May 31st, a Redditor posted a version of the meme to /r/DnDMemes,[8] garnering over 25,400 upvotes in eight months (shown below, left). On September 1st, a Redditor posted a version of the meme using the ship quote to /r/wholesomememes,[9] garnering over 32,400 upvotes in four months (shown below, right).
