The Maren Morris Wardrobe Malfunction Video, also known as the Maren Morris Skirt Slip or Maren Morris Skirt Video, refers to a viral video of American singer-songwriter Maren Morris accidentally flashing herself on stage during a concert performance in July 2024. In the clip, she's seen wearing a blue denim skirt that moves when she walks, at one point accidentally revealing her. The slip happened at Willie Nelson’s Fourth Of July Picnic while she was singing "The Middle" ("Baby, why don't you just meet me in the middle?"). The video of Morris went viral on social media platforms like Twitter / X, Reddit and TikTok in mid-2024, generating reactions, memes and viral discourse.

Origin

On July 4th, 2024, Maren Morris performed at Willie Nelson’s Fourth Of July Picnic.^[1] Days later, a video surfaced from her performance in which she was seen walking on stage, accidentally flashing her front region because of a cut-out in her denim skirt though she appeared to be wearing underwear and wasn't fully exposed.

The first known upload of the video was shared by X^[2] user @AwfullyAmusing on July 11th, 2024, who captioned it, "What do you notice about this?" receiving roughly 3.3 million views and 16,000 likes in five days (screenshot shown below).

Spread

The video spread via reposts on Twitter / X going into mid-July 2024. For instance, on July 12th, X^[3] user @KarluskaP tweeted the video, captioning it, "Well, at least the drapes match the carpet 🤣," receiving over 13.3 million views and 30,000 likes in four days (shown below, left).

Also on July 12th, X^[4] user @ImMeme0 tweeted the video, writing, "The fashion police should pay a visit to Maren Morris--they'd issue more tickets than a sold-out concert!" receiving roughly 26,000 likes in four days (shown below, right).

On July 13th, 2024, Facebook^[5] user Celebrity Heaven posted the video, gaining over 17,000 reactions in three days.

Reactions and memes then spread on TikTok, such as a video posted by TikToker^[6] @bexneslo on July 15th, 2024, that used the Joey's Delayed Reaction meme format, gaining over 393,700 plays in a day (shown below, left).

Also on July 15th, TikToker^[7] @its.shucking.corn posted a video in which she joked, "The skirt video really gives this song a whole new context," gaining over 251,300 plays in a day (shown below, right).
