The first video to set the trend was originally posted as a joke, but took took off on TikTok by women sincerely trying to replicate the trend.

Origin

On September 8th, 2022, TikToker^[1] @lifecrisisinducedglowup posted a video with a text overlay that read, "Megan Fox taught me to speak with my bottom teeth." The post gathered 2.9 million views and 200,000 likes in nearly a week (seen below).

Spread

On September 10th, 2022, TikToker^[2] @sineadparkk posted a similar video, gathering 4.6 million views and 400,000 likes in nearly five days (seen below).

Also on September 10th, the original creator of the trend revealed that she had actually lied about Megan Foxes manner of speaking in order to see how viral the trend could get.^[4] The upload gathered nearly 17,000 views and over 1,000 likes in five days (seen below).

On September 15th, TikToker @shakirvh^[3] mocked the women doing the trend, with a text overlay that read, "Seeing girls girls try to talk with their bottom teeth because of Megan Fox but I naturally talk like this." She then exaggerated pulling down her lip to lip-synch to a song, gathering 4.8 million views and over 700,000 likes in nearly one day (seen below).
