Most People Rejected His Message or They Hated Jesus is an exploitable image based on a panel from a Christian comic illustrating the biblical passage Galatians 4:16,^[2] which reads, "Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth?"

Origin

The image comes from the 1997 Christian comic pamphlet Charlie's Ants written by American cartoonist Jack Chick, which begins with the titular character trying to warn an ant colony about an impending flood, before his friend Sarah shows up to tell the story of the life of Jesus through a series of vignettes illustrating various passages from the Bible.^[12] The digital scans of the pamphlet were uploaded by Kansas City With Russian Accent^[1] blogger Meecha on November 5th, 2010.

Two pieces of religious literature found their way into my daughter’s Halloween candy bag. One was just a regular humorless booklet and the other one is a Chick Tract similar to the one I posted previously but slightly dumbed down for the children. For the record, I don’t mind these things; I imagine people do it with the best of intentions. If someone went through the trouble of rubber-banding a Chick Tract to a candy bar, the least I can do is to eat the candy and post the rest.

On November 21st, 2016, one of the earliest parodies of the Chick Tract (shown below) was uploaded by Redditor PastryChefSniper^[11] (shown below). Two days later, the same image was featured on the Facebook page The Meme Macheem^[3], where it gained more than 1,000 likes in less than two months, and on December 18th, 2016, Redditor Ubern00dle uploaded the same image to the /r/DankChristianMemes subreddit^[5], garnering over 2,800 upvotes in a month.

Various Examples

In the following months, a number of other parodies wherein Jesus shares an unpopular opinion or insult, usually in the context of fandom-specific discussions, have been uploaded to Imgur^[8], Reddit^[5][6][7], Instagram^[9] and Facebook.^[3][10]
