Mr. Peabody Hypnosis or the Mr. Peabody Hypnotizing Meme refers to a clip from the 2014 Mr. Peabody & Sherman movie in which Mr. Peabody spins his hand in a circular motion towards the camera as if hypnotizing the viewer. In late May through June 2024, the clip, paired with "Gaster's Theme" from Undertale, became the subject of image macro-style memes on TikTok, in which the clip is paired with captions about being hypnotized to do or believe something.
Origin
On July 7th, 2023, YouTuber[1] CallobMemers posted an edit of a scene from the 2014 Mr. Peabody & Sherman movie in which Mr. Peabody spins his hand in a circle towards the camera as if hypnotizing the viewer. The video changes quality throughout and is set to "Gaster's Theme" from Undertale. It garnered over 7,000 views in a year (shown below).
On May 23rd, 2024, TikToker[2] @konyx.0 posted a meme using the same clip and song, with a caption that translates to, "My bed hypnotizing me in the morning so that I continue sleeping and don't go to school," garnering over 900,000 views in a month (shown below). This is one of the earliest known memes to use the clip, although it is unclear who posted the true first meme.

On May 27th, 2024, TikToker[3] @iamaclowniguess posted a version of the meme that gained over 248,000 views in three weeks (shown below, left).On May 30th, TikToker[4] @theamazingsmokingpumkin posted a meme captioned, "my son hypnotizing me to yell at him to grab me a beer," garnering over 80,000 views in three weeks (shown below, right).
