My Name Is Chicky is the name of a viral children's YouTube video and song created by D Billions in 2020. The video features four characters introducing themselves through song and dance: Chicky, Cha-Cha, Boom Boom and Lya. The track later became a TikTok dance challenge in March 2022 where people reenacted the original.

Origin

On November 6th, 2020, YouTuber D Billions posted the original "My Name Is Chicky" video on YouTube. The video gained over 700 million views in less than 18 months (shown below).


Spread

The song began spreading on TikTok in early 2022 through meme videos where people would express their distaste for the "Lya Lya" section of the video with a variation on the Mr. Incredible Becoming Uncanny meme. On January 28th, TikToker cmi_memes[2] posted an edit featuring variations on Mario to describe each aspect of the song, gaining over 1 million likes in roughly two months (shown below, left). On February 1st, 2022, TikToker a1i0n1ad_hecks[1] posted an edit in which variations on Big Floppa categorized their feelings about each section of the song, gaining over 5.3 million likes in a similar timeframe (shown below, right).

In March 2022, the song became a prominent dance challenge on TikTok as users mimicked the quartet's original dance. On March 13th, user kurdapya19811[3] posted a video of a quartet mimicking the dance, gaining over 6.7 million likes in two weeks (shown below, left). On March 24th, TikToker aquajock_h2bro[4] posted the most liked video featuring the song to date, gaining over 8 million likes in five days (shown below, right).
