Nagi Working at McDonald's, also known as Nagi McDonald's or McNagi, refers to a series of memes and videos depicting Blue Lock character Seishiro Nagi working at the fast-food restaurant McDonald's as a cashier. The meme started in early April 2025 on TikTok, Twitter and Reddit, likely inspired by the Deku Working at McDonald's meme. McDonald's Nagi memes feature fan art, photoshopped images and other edits crudely layering a McDonald's uniform onto him.
Origin
Jokes about Nagi getting a job at McDonald's started in late March 2025 after he was eliminated from the Blue Lock project in chapter 298 of the Blue Lock manga series. TikTok[1] user @therealdj1k[1] posted one of the earliest jokes about the character working alongside Deku at McDonald's (seen below), which amassed more than 198,000 plays and 35,000 likes in two weeks.

Memes and photoshopped images of the character as a McDonald's worker gained more traction after the confirmation that Nagi was eliminated from the Blue Lock project in chapter 299. For example, on April 5th, 2025, TikTok[2] user @omaru_unknown fanmade animation of Nagi working at the fast-food restaurant, which amassed over 652,000 plays and 85,000 likes in a week.

On April 4th, 2025, Redditor[3] u/YourLocalDummydum posted a series of edited Blue Lock manga panels to the r/BlueLock subreddit, poorly layering a McDonald's uniform onto Nagi (seen below), which received roughly 1,800 upvotes and 41 comments in a week.

Deku Working at McDonald's refers to a series of memes and videos depicting My Hero Academia character Izuku Midoriya (aka Deku) losing his quirk and then working at the fast-food restaurant McDonald's as a cashier, which is based on the controversial ending of the manga series in mid-2024. Deku was nicknamed "Quirkless Deku" and imagined to have gotten a job at McDonald's following the last chapter. Many of the memes referenced the Just Put My Fires in the Bag Bro saying and the slang term "cu*k" to refer to Deku. McDonald's Deku memes surfaced across TikTok, Twitter / X and Reddit, among other platforms in 2024, manifesting in fan art and voiceover videos. Many of the images of Deku crudely layered a McDonald's uniform onto him, similar to the precursor 2021 McGenshin trend.
