The trend began in August 2022 and saw a resurgence in October and November of the same year.

Origin

On August 22nd, 2022, TikToker^[1] @el1jahtetilla posted a video set to a pitched-up version of "Karma" where he shares his name, year of birth, nationality and general location over a selfie, followed by several more selfies, garnering over 2 million views in three months (shown below).

Spread

The trend spread over the following months, racking the original sound up to over 1.3 million uses by November 2022. On October 27th, TikToker^[2] @awand.e posted a video following the trend, garnering over 1.3 million views in a week (shown below, left). On October 29th, TikToker^[3] @sieannaaaa_ posted a video following the trend claiming she's nine years old, with many doubting it, garnering over 2.9 million views in six days (shown below, right).

On November 3rd, TikToker^[4] @julesboringlife posted a video following the trend, garnering over 1.9 million views in a day (shown below).
