Oh Yeah Woo Yeah is an Ironic Meme depicting a low-resolution image of a stick figure dancing with the aforementioned text below it. The image has been used as a shitpost for animated videos and image macros.

Origin

The image of the stick figure is an example of a Bronze Age rock art, also known as a Petroglyph, from Tanum, Sweden, depicting several people near a "sun chariot."[1] While the image was likely created between 1800-500 BC, the entitled "Petroglyph Group Nordic Bronze Age" comes from Wikipedia,[2] which was "self-made" by Wikipedia user Lidingo and uploaded on March 16th, 2008 (shown below).



On March 2nd, 2018, Redditor[3] user Kirbizia the earliest known meme iteration of the image to the subreddit /r/okbuddyretard, depicting one of the dancing figures on a Pokémon card. The post received more than 200 points (100% upvoted) in about a year and a half (shown below).

Precursor

The image of the Petroglyph had appeared in other posts prior to the meme. On February 15th, 2017, Tumblr user tripropellant posted the image as the punchline to the caption "me when i am listening to modern POP MUSIC (bad!): 'hm… not good!' me when i am listening to RECONSTRUCTED BRONZE AGE LURS." The psot received more than 32,000 notes (shown below).

About two months later, YouTuber puzzlebot posted an animated video of the figure named "WOOHOO YEAHH YEAH BABEY … YEAHA MAN WOOH YEAH." In about one year, the video received more than 6,900 views (shown below, left).

On August 8th, 2018, iFunny [4] user furball posted an image of the figure with the caption "yeah woo yah woo yeah woo yeah oh yeah oh woo woo yeah woo yeah woo yeah woo time yeah yeah woo yeah." The post received more than 9,700 positive reactions in less than one year (shown below, right).[2]
