Omg Haha That Tickles, Stop! I Said Stop. is a two-panel meme format imagining a certain being tickled and asking to stop, first playfully through laughter and then in a serious and commanding manner, which is paired respectively with a silly image of the character and a strikingly serious or realistic fan art. The format is structurally similar to Man, I'm So Hungry and Can't You Take Anything Seriously and achieved popularity on X / Twitter in May 2025.
Origin
On May 6th, 2025, X[1] user @makiroll888 posted two contrasting images of Final Fantasy VII Remake character Aerith Gainsborough, with her smiling in one and wearing a serious expression in the other, pairing it with a dialogue in which Aerith asks to stop being tickled, first through laughter and then again in a commanding manner. The post (shown below) garnered over 150 reposts and 1,200 likes in one week.

Spread
On May 7th, 2025, X[2] user @Monsterbf1Ilove posted a similar meme featuring character Sephiroth from the same game. The post (shown below) garnered over 160 reposts and 1,000 likes in six days.

In the following week, users on X / Twitter shared more memes based on the format which featured characters from various franchises. Notably, on May 10th, 2025, X[3] user @NHWRoblox posted a My Hero Academia version of the meme featuring the character Deku; the post (shown below) garnered over 6,000 reposts and 63,000 likes in three days.

In multiple examples, the second panel of the meme featured realistic fan art of characters, or even real-life individuals bearing visual resemblance to them.
