The opening scene of the 2016 movie Sing features a sheep character, Nana Noodleman, performing "Golden Slumber" by Paul McCarney to a crowd of people. The scene was uploaded to YouTube^[1] by Sergej Galejev on May 10th, 2017, garnering over 4.4 million views in six years (shown below).

The scene was reuploaded to TikTok^[2]^[3] several times throughout late 2022 and early 2023. Notably, on February 17th, 2023, TikToker^[4] @mmmenopause posted an edit of the scene that garnered over 339,000 views in two months (shown below).

In March 2023, TikTokers began using Nana Noodleman's cover of "Golden Slumber" in their videos more often. For example, on March 18th, 2023, TikToker^[5] @luvkanyuii posted a Demon Slayer edit to the audio, garnering over 823,000 views in a month. On March 19th, TikToker^[6] @areallycoolsimp posted an Arcane edit to the song, garnering over 1.5 million views in the same span of time. Each video's original sound became popular throughout April as TikTokers began using them in lip dub skits and over original animations. For example, on April 7th, TikToker^[7] @oli.the.simp posted a video that garnered over 4 million views in five days (shown below, left). On April 9th, TikToker^[8] @leoxki posted an animation that gained over 1.7 million views in three days (shown below, right).
