pelcan Mouth perfec t size for put baby in is a copypasta where someone is asked via very misspelled and grammatically problematic sentences to give trust in something they should not trust. It is often written as if being asked by non-sapient thing itself, similar to Critters Posting on 4chan. While the original post dates to 2017, it made a resurgence as a copypasta in the mid 2020’s.

Origin

Precouring the copypasta, on April 25th 2017, Tumblr user maverick-ornithography uploaded^[1] a photograph taken by Flickr user Tj Baccari ^[2] of a brown pelican with fish jumping in its mouth with text reading:
“Pelicans very genrous birds rent out mouth for cheap party space. Very fun and safety place! bring friends of all sorts have gethering in pelican mouth. Make Extra Fun be a theme partyy of Pot Luck by have with bringing food to share also in pelican mouth. Big Space!! party so much fun in above picture that roof is literal being raise. you want party happiness yes?? trust in pelican” (show below).

This post gained over 18,000 notes within 9 years^[2].

Later that week, on April 28th 2017, Tumblr user maverick-ornithography uploaded^[3] a photograph taken by Flickr user pominoz68^[4] featuring two Australian Pelicans, one with its mouth widely open, with the accompanying text:

Put Baby In Pelican Mouth. no problems ever in peliccan mouth because good Shape and Support for baby neck weak of big baby head. Apelican Mouth yes a place for a baby put baby in pelican mouth can trust pelican for giveing good love to baby. friend pelican”

This post gained over 167,000 notes within 9 years^[4].

Spread

The oldest known variation of the copypasta was from Tumblr user thewhitewindywaves on June 18th 2018. ^[5] The post showed a screenshot of a blender and ocotling from the Nintendo game Splatoon 2. However, this post received fewer than 500 notes in seven years.

On August 29th 2019, a now-deleted Reddit user posted the text of the Tumblr post to r/copypasta^[5]. However, this post only received 17 upvotes and two comments before being locked.
