Doug DeMuro is an American automotive vlogger, writer and reviewer. Mostly known for his YouTube channel, DeMuro has more than 2 million subscribers on the website.

Doug DeMuro began writing for the internet in 2013, publishing his first article for the website The Truth About Cars on January 17th, 2013.[1][2]

Later that year, on September 11th, DeMuro launched his YouTube channel. Two months later, on December 10th, he published his first video, "Cadillac CTS-V Wagon: A Low-Budget Farewell." The post received more than 665,000 views in less than six years (shown below).


Over the next half decade, DeMuro published more than 380 videos about automobiles. On November 15th, 2016, he uploaded the video "Here's Why the BMW i8 Is Worth $150,000." The post received more than 10 million views in less than three years (shown below, left). About six months, on May 12th, 2017, he published his most popular video as of April 2019. The video "Here's Why the 2017 Ford GT Is Worth $500,000" received more than 11 million views in less than two years (shown below, right).

On February 9th, 2018, DeMuro participated in a Reddit [3] Ask Me Anything. The question and answer forum received more than 6,400 points (89% upvoted) and 1,400 comments in about two years.

Doug Is The Type of Guys That is a frequently used phrasal template used to joke about the quirks that fans have come to notice of DeMuro throughout the course of the series. On December 17th, 2017, YouTuber TurboSeth posted a video compilation of some of their favorite comments to DeMuro's video (shown below). Within two years, the video has received more than 12,000 views.

On April 12th, 2019, Redditor[4] PopaXXX asked about the meme in the /r/OutOfTheLoop subreddit. Within 24 hours, the post received more than 1,500 points (93% upvoted) and 180 comments.
