Career
Doroth Helena de Souza Alves, also known as MC Pipokinha,[1] is a Brazilian funk singer and dancer self-proclaimed as the "Queen of Lewd." She started her career in 2019, but it was in 2021 that she gained more interest by releasing songs like "Bota na Pipokinha," "Eu Sou a MC Pipokinha," and "Tira as Crianças da Sala," accumulating 14 million plays on Spotify.[2] The music video for "Bota na Pipokinha," uploaded on YouTube[3] on August 20th, 2021, has garnered 18 million plays and 259,000 likes in two years (seen below).

On social media, most of the trending topics regarding the Brazilian funk singer are related to unconventional videos of her concerts, which feature sensual and aggressive choreography, sometimes involving fans taking consensual beatings on the stage. During an MC Pipokinha show on January 11th, 2023, one of the singer's dancers, Jonas Kaik, kicked a fan in the face during a striptease interaction. A video of the moment was posted on TikTok[4] by @leiidyannesilva, garnering 1.1 million plays and 87,400 likes in a month.

In this clip from an MC Pipokinha concert, the same dancer that kicked a fan in the face is recorded lifting a woman like in Simba's birth scene from The Lion King. The moment was shared on TikTok[5] by @erickvieiira012 on January 23rd, 2023, garnering 6.5 million plays and 517,400 likes in one month.

MC Pipokinha Controversies
Mocking Teachers' Salaries in Brazil
MC Pipokinha has a series of controversial moments that some say had her "canceled" on the internet. For example, on March 7th, 2023, the singer posted a question from a fan in an Instagram story, saying he argued with a teacher because of the funk artist. MC Pipokinha responded to the fan by mocking teachers' salaries in Brazil. A few days after the video went viral, the singer had at least seven shows canceled,[6] and posted an apology video on March 15th.
Oral Sex With A Fan Onstage
On March 5th, 2023, MC Pipokinha became one of the most talked about topics on the internet after a video of her apparently receiving oral sex from a fan during a show went viral on social media. For instance, Twitter[7] user @Laine_unhappy posted a meme of her reaction after seeing the viral video of the singer. The post (seen below), uploaded on March 6th, garnered 1,096 likes and 217 retweets in two weeks.
