SomeOrdinaryGamers is the online handle of Indo-Canadian YouTuber Mutahar Anas. Previously recognized for his video game creepypasta playthroughs and narrations under his Haunted Gaming series, he is known now for his YouTube videos in which he provides commentary on the internet, gaming, and technology. As of June, 2021, he has over 2.75 million subscribers.

Online History

Mutahar's previous YouTube Channel "mutahar1", launched February 3rd, 2007. Videos on the channel have since been privated.[2] His current channel[1] launched on March 15th, 2012, featuring a Let's Play series of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Shown below). Older channel content pertaining to Haunted Gaming has been moved to the channel "SomeOrdinaryArchives".

On June 27th, 2012, Anas uploaded a facecam playthrough of a popular Pokémon ROM Hack titled "Escape from Lavender Town" (shown below, left) This later kickstarted his Haunted Gaming legacy and garnered over 411,560 views. On November 29th, Anas uploaded a stream to YouTube of him browsing websites of the past titled "Nostalgic Web Surfing! Ep.1 – Internet back then?" (Shown below, right) which would predate series like Deep Web Browsing and as of 2021, has since amassed 145,860 views.

Personal Life

Mutahar Anas was born on May st1, 1994 and lives in Toronto, Canada[3]. According to him, YouTube is seen more as a side hobby[4] and his full-time job involves video editing.[5]

Social Media Presence

In April 2012, the @OrdinaryGamers Twitter handle was created[6] accumulating 477,000 followers in the following years. Also that month, the "Some Ordinary Gamers" Facebook page was created[7] with 16,940 and 17,430 thousand likes and followers, respectively.

Mutahar Laugh

Mutahar Laugh or Laughing Mutahar refers to a series of memes involving Mutahar's humorous reaction to a jumpscare (shown below). Since the video's inception, it has been remixed online as a soundbite similarly to Bruh Sound Effect #2.

Virtual Machines

Virtual Machines are a type of self-contained operating environment isolated from the host operating system. Mutahar frequently features videos pertaining to virtual machines on his channel becoming a staple in the community subject to jokes.
