TerminalMontage is a YouTube channel run by animator Jeremey Chinsue who creates humorous animated sketches about video games. Since joining YouTube in 2009, the channel has produced several popular series, including NoPUNintendo and the "Something Series," produced many videos which have gained over a million views, and acquired over 890,000 subscribers.

History

TerminalMontage joined YouTube on May 27th, 2009.[1] The channel initially hosted a few live-action sketches (example shown below, left) before moving into animation. On May 22nd, 2011, he and Jeffrey Micha Giamo started NoPUNintendo as a webcomic. The first animated sketch on the TerminalMontage channel is a Dark Souls parody posted February 29th, 2012 that gained over 1.5 million views (shown below, right).

On December 14th, 2012, the channel uploaded what would become its most popular video debate, an animated rendering of the Nintendo 64 Kids (shown below).


NoPUNintendo

On May 22nd, 2011, TerminalMontage and Giaimo posted their first comic to smackjeeves.com.[1] It features Luigi hitting Mario, to which Mario responds "I bruise like a Peach!" (shown below). They posted 44 comics between then and July 12th, 2012.

After a year of posting comics, NoPUNintendo was picked up by Machinima, and on July 15th, 2012, the channel posted a short animation featuring animated versions of jokes from the webcomic (repost shown below, left). The video gained over 1.2 million views before being taken down by Machinima. Machinima posted the second episode of the series on December 6th, gaining over 334,000 views (reupload shown below, right).


On July 17th, 2017, after a five-year hiatus, TerminalMontage's YouTube account posted another episode of NoPUNintendo, gaining over 109,000 views (shown below, left). A fourth installment was posted a week later and gained over 106,000 views (shown below, right).


Something Series

On January 18th, 2018, TerminalMontage uploaded the first in its "Something Series," a series of animated videos parodying a specific video game, depending on the episode. The first episode, about Monster Hunter, gained over 1.2 million views (shown below, right). The most popular episode in the series centers around Yoshi's Island, which gained over 9.4 million views and is the second most popular video on the channel overall (shown below, right).


Online Presence

In addition to TerminalMontage's 890,000 YouTube subscribers, the channel's Twitter account has over 25,000 followers,[2] over 6,600 likes on Facebook,[4] and Jeremey's Instagram has over 32,000 followers.[3] He has also created several animations for Game Grumps (shown below).
