The Finest Squad is a group of Netherlands-based white hat hackers who gained notoriety online for releasing the purported personally identifiable information of the black hat hacker group Lizard Squad in retaliation for the December attacks on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live online gaming services.

History

On December 2nd, 2014, The Finest Squad joined Twitter[1] in response to Xbox Live hacks purportedly orchestrated by the Lizard Squad.

On the same day, @FinestSquad Twitter[2] account posted an image claiming they had shutdown a main Lizard Squad website.

Lizard Twitter Removal

On December 11th, @FinestSquad[3] claimed responsibility for Twitter banning the Lizard Squad feed and for keeping their "IRC offline" (shown below). Over the next month, the tweet gained over 3,900 favorites and 2,400 retweets.

On December 22nd, 2014, the @FinestSquad Twitter feed was suspended after being reported for spam. That evening, a Finest Squad member and a Lizard Squad member engaged in a heated exchanged in a video uploaded to the DramaAlert YouTube channel (shown below). In less than three weeks, the video gathered more than 300,000 views and 7,000 comments.

Lizard Squad Dox

On the night of December 25th 2014, Finest Squad released a website containing claimed IP addresses of the members of Lizard Squad and their respective Skype handles.

You could at least take the Finest Squad logo (which is taken from Tokyo Ghoul, which is a show about man eating cannibals living among normal people; basically vampires, with all the internal conflict and stuff, but it admits the predatory instincts are creepy as hell) as a sign that they are eating their own kind (hackers vs. hackers).
