About
TimmyTurnersGrandDad, often abbreviated to TTGD, is a YouTube channel that posts parody videogame music rips in a similar manner to the SiIvaGunner YouTube channel. The channel is often used by the same rippers as the SiIvaGunner channel, and has had a direct influence on the SiIvaGunner channel as a result.[1] The TTGD YouTube channel has over 38,000 subscribers as of January 2023.[2]
Origin
The TimmyTurnersGrandDad YouTube channel was created on October 1st, 2016, after the first closure announcement of the SiIvaGunner parody rip channel. Its first parody rip was of the battle tune from Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire which was posted on the same day (shown below). The rip received over 88,000 views in over six years.
Popular Rips
TTGD's most popular rip is of Undertale's Megalovania which is actually Deltarune's Field of Hopes and Dreams in the music style of Megalovania's. The rip was posted to YouTube on November 4th, 2018, and has received over 1.2 million views in over four years.
Collabs
Another popular type of rip on the TTGD YouTube channel is the collab, which plays a game's song in the style of several different other games and media. The most popular collab, which is a rip of Cornered from the Ace Attorney series (shown below, left), was posted to the YouTube channel on November 9th, 2019, and has received over 600,000 views in over three years. The second most popular collab, which is a rip of Butter Building from Kirby's Adventure (shown below, right), was posted to the channel on August 29th, 2017, and has received over 586,000 views in over five years.
