The Brazilian TikToker username, Xurrasco_021, is a combination of the word barbeque in Portuguese and the code number of the State he lives in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro. He uploaded his first TikTok^[1] on February 21st, 2022, gaining roughly 36,700 plays and 960 likes in one year (shown below, left). During the same month, Xurras' Instagram^[2] presence also started. On June 7th, 2022, the Brazilian posted a TikTok^[3] that was his first to reach over 1 million plays, gaining roughly 1,6 million plays and 124,900 likes in two years (shown below, right).

Funk Dance Challenges

The Brazilian grew his audience on TikTok by posting videos of popular dance trends like the "Tá gostosin"^[4] (shown below, left) on July 31st, 2022, in which he appears dancing enthusiastically while a friend is staring at him from behind. The post received 5,1 million plays and 328,000 likes in almost a year. Another common content xurrasco_021 uploads in his account are videos doing the trend with friends, like the "Destrava Joga Pro Alto" trend (shown below, right) on October 15th, 2022. The video garnered 7,9 million plays and 664,000 likes in five months.

Xurrasco_021 Dancing Tame Impala

The TikTok user @angellsdua noticed that one of the dance videos uploaded by xurrasco_021 had the same rhythm as the Tame Impala music "The Less I Know The Better". The meme account edited the song with the Brazilian dancing on January 25th, 2023, receiving 317,300 plays and 56,800 likes in two weeks.

As Xurrasco's popularity increased in early-2023, people started to share ironic memes pretending to be his fans, like @isa.ayres_ video on January 31st, 2023, in which she uses a transparent filter to show Xurrasco dancing in the background and the caption "are you listening?" The post garnered 370,600 plays and 44,200 likes in five days.

@milleny_sousaa1 used a clip from the family movie "Coco" with the caption "my son in the future finding a picture of his father" to show photoshop a picture of Xurrasco_021. The post, uploaded on February 2nd, 2023, garnered 513,000 plays and 58,400 likes in one day.
